Danielle is the Vice President, Medical Affairs and Health System Solutions at Women's College Hospital (WCH), and the founder of WIHV, where she is also a Senior Innovation Fellow. She is a family physician in the Family Practice Health Centre at WCH, associate professor in the Departments of Family and Community Medicine and Health Policy, Management and Evaluation and School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto. In February, 2018, she was the lead author on a Lancet paper entitled ‘Canada’s universal health-care system: achieving it’s potential,’ highlighting the biggest opportunities to improve access and quality for millions of Canadians today.
As a national health policy leader, Danielle is a strong advocate for removing barriers to care and improving equity. From a national pharmacare program dedicated to ensuring that all Canadians can access necessary medications, to a basic income to protect the health of low-income Canadians – Danielle’s policy work, research and advocacy focus is on closing the health gaps that vulnerable Canadians face. Her book, Better Now: Six Big Ideas to Improve Health Care for All Canadians is a platform to engage Canadians in a national conversation about achievable change in health care.

WIHV benefits from the expertise of its Advisory Board, chaired by Dr. Chaviva Hosek and made up of top health system leaders and thinkers from across Ontario. They convene quarterly to provide advice to WIHV on emerging health sector issues and help to link critical partners to the team, ensuring that the work we do remains applicable across the sector.
Scientific and research experts on the Board also help WIHV to recruit world-class researchers who will address the most relevant and pressing policy-relevant ambulatory care issues.
